The material resources program is always happy to receive kits and buckets fully assembled with all required items. However, the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot can use large quantities of bulk items that may be easier for some churches and church groups to acquire. The top ten list of bulk material needs (listed in order of priority) is as follows: Top Ten List of Bulk Supplies Needed

Complete Kits

The following resources are used in places where people may have suffered losses due to natural or human made disasters. UMCOR Kits are material resources that provide many essential supplies for everyday life. You can donate complete kits

Health Kits  Health kits provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or natural disaster.

School Kits  In some countries, children don't have books or school supplies. Many have no schoolrooms; classes are held in inadequate or half-destroyed buildings, tents, or even the open air. School kits may be these children's only educational resources.

Packing and Shipping Instructions  The North Georgia Disaster Response Ministry maintains a limited quantity of the flood buckets and health kits in their storage unit and may be interested in replenishment of their stock.

Volunteer to Help at Sager Brown

More than 3,000 United Methodists came to UMCOR Sager Brown to pack emergency kits, serve in the gift shop, assist in the kitchen and inventory supplies during 2006.

They also serve some of the residents of Baldwin, La., the nearby town, who need home repairs or other assistance. Volunteers have fun and experience "hands-on" mission opportunities.

Find out more about being an UMCOR Sager Brown volunteer in Know Before You Go, a manual for volunteers. In the manual you'll find all sorts of information about what to expect when you sign up for a week or a weekend of service. Click here for the manual.
