UMCOR Early Response Training  & Certification  

Description:

The class is the initial training for church team members that desire to respond immediately after a disaster incident and are capable of serving as a fully self-sufficient team..  The course focuses on helping the survivors, cultural aspects, preparation-what to take, and tasks (debris removal, tarping, and clean up).  The mission of an early response team is to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of a disaster, under very specific guidelines that enable a team to be productive and caring while causing no further harm or being a burden to the affected community. 

Classes are taught by “authorized” UMCOR trainers,

Class Length:

Classroom 8:30-12:00 Saturday
Lunch onsite 12:00-1:30 Saturday $5.00 included in base cost  
Classroom 1:30-400 Saturday

Cost::

  1. Criminal background check-$10  (Acceptable alternates are presentation of Red Cross DSHR ID, recent criminal background check, safe sanctuary certification at site registration)
  2. Base Cost
    1. Saturday Lunch - $ 5.00
    2. Methodist personal ID -$5.00 (refund at site registration if already have ID)
