Description:
The class provides the background information needed to take the test for the Ham Technician License. Success rates tend to be very high for these classes; so this is an excellent way to prepare for the test. This is the first of three levels of licensing and is the only one needed to operate the D-Star (digital) frequencies now used by the North Georgia Methodist Disaster Response.
Television is now undergoing the analog to digital modification and a similar situation exists for amateur radio. The North Georgia Methodist is focusing on Icom equipment that is able to take advantage of the new technology but is also backward compatible to the older analog two-meter and 70-cm frequencies. More information on the equipment and technology will be provided on Friday afternoon and evening. See schedule Also the Friday afternoon events are also open to existing licensed hams.
Register as early as possible so that the document reviewed on Saturday can be emailed to you in advance. Please spend time with the document before the class so that you can successful pass the license test.
