This portal is designed to make it as easy to offer financial support, product donations, or to donate your skills and time to nonprofit organizations active in disaster relief. The American Logistics Aid Network was formed to provide a coordinated vehicle to channel resources from members of various professional organizations to approved Relief Agencies that are providing relief during a time of crisis. Initially, these efforts are being focused on one-time crisis situations that occur in the United States, such as hurricanes, floods and earthquakes.

Today ARRL, with approximately 154,000 members, is the largest organization of radio amateurs in the United States. The ARRL is a not-for-profit organization that:

EMAC, the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, is a congressionally ratified organization that provides form and structure to interstate mutual aid.

Through EMAC, a disaster impacted state can request and receive assistance from other member states quickly and efficiently, resolving two key issues upfront: liability and reimbursement.
