1. Collect gift cards
- A great way to donate needed items to those affected by disaster
is by purchasing gift cards for stores in the affected area. Also,
American Express and many banks now offers general gift cards that
can be used almost anywhere. Gift cards are easier and more cost
effective to ship, store and distribute. Also, it allows the
family to choose items that they prefer or that they need the
most. Somewhere within the Conference there is a team on the
road every week. These teams would be happy to take the gift
cards to a family for you.

2.Prayer
– Perhaps most importantly, our brothers and sisters in all
places affected by disasters, need our thoughts and our prayers.
Long after cities like New Orleans have been physically restored
and everyday life has returned to normal, the emotional scars of
such a tragedy will surely remain. God is present and in it for
the long run wherever people are suffering. We, as Christians, are
called to follow Jesus’ example through continued prayers of
hope, peace and restoration for those who are hurting. As we
send out teams, we need prayer to cover them in travel and work.
